NSBA Club Connect Breakfast Series Featuring:
"Renewing Food Waste in the City of Saskatoon"
A Presentation by Steven Rau - FoodRenew
Are you looking for an alternative option to throwing away edible food at your business? Do you want to advocate for better waste management practices? If you answered yes to these questions then please join us for a brief presentation about FoodRenew, a non-profit initiative, that diverts excess edible food from businesses and deliver it to social agencies. FoodRenew bridges the gap that currently exists between food donors and recipients; we provide businesses with an option to renew their excess food, through donation, in situations where it would otherwise go to waste at no cost to the participating business.
Steven Rau is the co-founder and technical lead at FoodRenew. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science. Currently, he works in Saskatoon as a software developer and enjoys the challenge of creating a community-driven solution to our food waste problem.
Club Connect is a series of breakfast meetings whose programming centers on an informative and interesting speaker. Featuring outstanding food and great company, Club Connect breakfasts are held every 2nd and 4th Friday (except in December) at 7:10 am at The Saskatoon Club. Club Connect breakfasts place a large emphasis on networking, so don’t be surprised to meet some new people over your morning coffee!
